About Me
My name is Nick Lewis. I worked as a pop culture writer at The Calgary Herald for about eight-and-a-half years, and appeared on four seasons of a pop culture TV show called Whatever Happened To? that’s still on air.
I’m a strong communicator. I’m also responsible, diligent, organized, and I work well with deadlines. Wanting to augment my skill set, I made the decision to return to university in September 2009 to become wiser, leaner and even more marketable.
Now, I’m a Masters of Digital Media student at Vancouver’s Centre for Digital Media, a unique graduate program offered jointly through four academic institutions: the University of British Columbia, Simon Fraser University, Emily Carr University of Art + Design and the British Columbia Institute of Technology.
I work in student teams with real-world clients such as Microsoft and Zynga, rapidly iterating digital media products such as video games, social networking sites and e-learning software for them. My ability to surf the learning curve has also helped me develop project leadership and Design Thinking skills.
In my spare time, I love playing beach volleyball, video games and discovering that hot musical act before anyone else. Despite a slavish devotion to the NFL, I am surprisingly bad at fantasy football.
