Design a Home You'll Love

This course focuses on building a foundational understanding of interior design concepts that will help take your home from boring to beautiful. The course is divided into five modules covering basic terminology, important design elements, starting from scratch, finding your interior design style, and putting it all together.

While the course is heavily based on theory, these concepts are essential to understanding how to redesign your home. The last module is less theory-based and focuses on applying the concepts from this course to your own space. I will take you step by step through how I would design a room with a more hands-on approach.

This course has three hours of video content with worksheets, quizzes, and downloads to aid your learning.

What You'll Learn

Color is one of the more theory-based modules in the course. In this module, we work to attain a basic understanding of color theory and color psychology and understand the terms hue, tint, tone, and shade. I also break down color theory so that you can identify colors you love in an item of inspiration and build a color scheme around it. This video is complimented by two optional worksheet activities to aid learning.

The mood board module towards the end of the course is tailored to help give you more hands-on practical skills when designing your own space. I cover how to use extensions to create a mood board to help you gain an understanding of the ins and outs of Milanote. Ultimately the module is more of a walk-through to gain practical skills on how to efficiently find inspiration for your space and mood board.

About Nick

My name is Nick Lewis, and I'm a passionate content creator and YouTuber based out of Vancouver, Canada. I have always had a passion for interior design despite my various career paths in marketing and entrepreneurial pursuits. My content focuses on interior design tips, trends, and education, which is why I recently launched my Boring to Beautiful course, in addition to continuing to create YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok videos.

I just completed your course "Boring to Beautiful" and loved it! I've been watching your videos for about a year, and this course couldn't come at a better time for me...I just bought my first home!

Claire Annan from Boring to Beautiful

I’m new to interior design, and let me tell you this is by far the best video I’ve found explaining the different design styles, thanks so much for all your work and passion!

  • No, the videos in this course will never appear on my channel. The only place to see these videos in this structured format is right here.

  • Although I love to provide free information on my YouTube channel, some information just doesn't have the wide appeal to be successful on YouTube. So I saved a lot of my best tips for this course.

  • YouTube is a great platform for learning new things but with algorithms prioritizing quick content that has wide appeal, it's not the best place to put in-depth educational content like this course. Here I show you the best step-by-step guide I could make but in an ad-free format without algorithms getting in the way.

  • I don't think this course is for everybody. I think if you are someone who doesn't prioritize your living space at all, you might not get the full value from the course.

I also don't pretend that this course is a substitute for a structured post-secondary program from an accredited interior design school. There is a lot more that goes into being an interior designer that is outside the scope of this course.

Although interior designers have said they get a lot of value out of my videos, this course is ideally for a homeowner or renter who is passionate about design and wants to know how to make their space functional, beautiful and reflects their personal style.

  • That course is totally self-paced, so you can stop and start whenever you wish and even go back to previous modules to refer back to later.

If you just want to watch the videos straight through, you can complete the course in under 4 hours.

  • Please make sure you have watched the two free preview videos to ensure you are confident in your purchase. All sales are final as this is a digital product, but if you have any issues with the course or questions about a refund, please message me at support@nicklewis.ca.
